2005November 2005Jeb Receives his HIC November 20, 2005 presented by the Canadian National Australian Sheperd Association, awarded by Wendy Schmaltz. We look forward to trying our hand at Herding in 2006!
2004 Show WinsSeptemberJeb is awarded Group 4th September 3 & 4 in Saskatoon.JulyWesterly Dog Club - Rottweiler Club of Canada National Specialty Weekend - Jeb is awarded Best of Breed and Group 3 in the All Breed Show, handled by his mom, Betty. Thank you to Judge Ed Wilde for this award.June
Jeb recently traveled with Perry Payson to Colorado/Idaho/Montana and was awarded a 5 point major as well as several singles from the Ambred Class. Of 17 shows entered, Jeb was recognized everyday with either Best of Winners, Winners Dog or Reserve Winners awards.
We purchased "Jeb" in September 2000 from Wendi Lewellen at Iron Chancellor Rottweilers. Jeb is the product of the #1 overall AKC Rottweiler in 1999, Crystal's Topaz von Ponca and his dam, Iron Chancellor's "Brenda." Iron Brenda is a member of one of the famous litters than was the result of the breeding between Gameguards Mirra Image (AKA "Mirra") and Iron Chancellors Von Bergenhoff (AKA "Shatze"). 13 Months
Besides the obviously great genetics behind this breeding, as a puppy, Jeb presented the package we were looking for: great head, short back, strong rear, strong front, and wonderful temperament. However, at 8 weeks of age, picking the "pick" male puppy from a litter is always a crapshoot at best, so all we could do is hope that Jeb turned out as hoped.

Although obviously a beautiful example of a male Rottweiler and one possessing so many of the attributes we LOVE in a Rottweiler, Jeb was CERF Tested at 2 years of age as was shown to have juvenile cataracts. Even though is was a heartbreaking decision, we felt it necessary to neuter him as we would not breed him with this limitation. Jeb is a marvelous house dog and working dog. He is showing great natural ability in the sports of herding and agility.
Jeb demonstrates a great head, with one of the shortest muzzle to skull ratios you will find. He also has a great 90 degree stop, combined with a very significant, square fore skull. In our opinion, given our personal preferences, you will not find a more ideal head type on a male Rottweiler.

Jeb is very short in back, which again, is our preference. Combined with his short back, Jeb also has a very strong, muscular rear end, one that demonstrates the correct degree of rear angulation in reference to the breed standard. Jeb also has significant bone and substance, which given that he is medium in height (26" at the withers), ends up producing a male dog that is a tight, muscular package. In show condition, Jeb weighs in at around 110 pounds. Jeb's overall movement can be best described as effortless and floating. His shortness of back, combined with the proper degree of rear angulation, does not result in a huge amount of rear drive, as would be demonstrated by a long backed, over angulated dog. However, this type of movement is correct in a "working dog," as the dog needs to be able to move effortlessly for hours at a time, and cannot do this effectively if their rear end must work too hard. Jeb is extremely athletic and agile.

Jeb is very straight in the front, with a very nice front shoulder layback. He is tightly knuckled in the feet, and has very strong pasterns. His chest is very wide. Jeb scored in the 90th percentile on the Pennhip and OFA Good. Jeb's markings are quite dark, as were his father "Taz'" markings. This also comes from the Gameguards bloodlines, which are on Jeb's mother's side of the pedigree.
 2 Years
Jeb finished his Canadian Championship at a young age. He had Multi Group Placements and has won numerous Best of Breeds. Jeb has been shown on only three circuits in the USA, and only in larger shows where 40+ Rottweilers were in attendance. He has his majors and only needed some singles to gain his AKC Championship.
