Darkstone Ebony Rose
AKA
D.O.B. 9.20.05

November 2010 - Ebony attended a Carting Seminar in Bragg Creek, Alberta. She was a Natural!

2 Years

As a mature adult, Ebony's combination of size, conformation, athleticism, and power are very unique. Ebony is obviously on the large end of the size spectrum within the breed, drawing on the genetics of her parents ("Caesar" and "Samba") to produce an extremely muscular, large-boned, powerful, and importantly, structurally balanced female Corso. While Ebony is absolutely the most powerful female dog we have ever seen, she retains the ability to move with surprising grace. Ebony's temperament is one of her strongest suits. She demonstrates what, to us at Darkstone, is nearly the ideal temperament for a female Corsi. She is very friendly and outgoing with any person she is introduced to, and can be taken anywhere as an "ambassador to the breed." However, she is also extremely "hard," in that she is fearless, and her pain tolerance levels are as high as we have ever seen in a dog. She would make an exceptional "working" dog in any environment, as she also possesses a strong working/prey drive. She is the definitive "alpha" female, ruling over all in her domain, yet tolerant of any dog, including females, who do not challenge her authority.
Ebony's first mating, with "Roscoe" as the father, produced an outstanding litter of nine puppies. Included in this litter are four offspring that have begun their show careers, or are at the stage of being trained for their introduction to the show ring, which clearly demonstrates the overall conformational and temperamental quality of the litter.

In August 2006 we entered a picture of Ebony, at a Herding Instinct Test, in a contest with Dogsport magazine for an article they were doing on Herding. We WON the contest! Yipee for Ebony! Unfortunately, she did not get her HIC that day as she was too young but it was great practice.
