OUTSTANDING NEWS!!!
We are thrilled to announce Caesar has been awarded his ICCF Grand Champion Title! We are extremely honored to have Caesar included in this elite group of Cane Corsi.

We were fortunate enough to acquire Caesar in Oct. of 2003 from Anthony Carfagna of Carfagna's Cane Corsos. Anthony's personal situation required that he could no longer devote the time to his dogs that he felt they deserved, and though a very difficult decision for him, he made the choice to place them with us. For that, we are grateful.
At the time we received Caesar, he was not quite 3 years of age, and already one of the most beautiful and accomplished Cane Corso's in North America. We had seen Caesar at the ICCF nationals the previous two years, and had quite honestly felt that he was one of top Cane Corsos in North America. What struck us was not only his physical presence and conformation to standard, but his wonderful personality. Caesar is fearless yet completely outgoing and friendly. He has one of the most stable and wonderful temperaments we have ever seen in the breed. He is outgoing and non-aggressive to other dogs, as well as humans.unless the situation calls for his vigilance. Caesar demonstrates these character traits which have made him the perfect dog to handle being highly trained for "Personal Protection."
This was highlighted to me the first year we saw Caesar at the Nationals. At that time, I followed a group of people outside with Anthony Carfagna and Caesar to watch him do a demonstration of "bite work." What was so impressive was not how hard Caesar hit his targets when doing bite work, it was the fact that the second that the "out" command was given, he would throw away the sleeve, and walk around to all present with tail wagging furiously for his congratulations and petting. What a temperament!!

When the opportunity presented itself to acquire Caesar as a pillar of our future breeding program at Darkstone, alongside Roscoe, we jumped at the opportunity. We felt Caesar offered much to the Cane Corso breed that few current males in North America can offer. His movement and structure are very hard to find fault with. Caesar has a great top line, and the strongest rear end we have yet to witness in a Cane Corso. Frankly, we would not want him to have any more rear angulation or muscularity, or it would be over done. As it stands, his rear end movement and structure are striking, and the degree of muscularity phenomenal within the breed. Caesar is also very strong and straight in the front, with an impressive front shoulder layback that results in a very strong "reach" on the front movement. His feet are tight and aligned straight forward. Overall, Caesar's muscularity is striking. He measures around 27 ½ " tall at the withers, but looks much larger due to his muscularity, his huge bone mass, and the size of his head. It always strikes us that we can see the cross-striations clearly in Caesar's outer rear thighs even when he is just walking around the house.bodybuilders would die for thighs like that! In show shape, Caesar will weigh in at 130-135 pounds, which is at the upper maximum for males (123 pounds in the current ICCF/AICC standard). Caesar has all the correct head proportions and angles, and carries a very tight scissors bite, which is appropriate within the ICCF/AICC standard, given that he demonstrates an exacting muzzle to head ratio of 1/3, as well as great depth and breadth of muzzle. He has full dentition. His black mask marking and dense coat structure along the top line are impeccable.
At the 2003 ICCF National, the Italian Judge singled out Caesar as one of a handful of dogs in North America that he felt would be critical to the breed's future development.
Despite being just three years old at the time of this writing, Caesar is one of the most accomplished Cane Corso in North America. He currently holds ICCF Grand Championship, ARBA, Rarities, IABCA, and a Canadian Championship with the Rare Breed Club of Southwest Ontario. It should be noted that Caesar is the second youngest ICCF champion in history, finishing his championship at only 7 months and 9 days. Very importantly, Caesar finished his championship at this young age in major shows.beating a total of 16 dogs older than himself, and in only 2 weekends. Caesar obtained his ARBA championship after only his 3rd show weekend at the New England Classic.with this event taking place before his 8 month birthday. Caesar has significant training in "Personal Protection," and is the first Cane Corso in the USA to achieve a high finish and be titled at Dave Putman's "Iron Dog" competition.
We feel that Caesar will offer much that is currently lacking to the Cane Corso breed now that he is mature, and we are very proud at Darkstone Kennel to call him our own.
